In the computer jungle the more you know the easier it is to survive. One adventure is common external computer ports. When you are able to tame ports a trip to the computer store will be less treacherous and more productive.

Your guides in this adventure have prepared a quick unit of instruction. This unit consists of separate modules for each port. You can use one or all of these; the choice is yours.

We suggest that you begin with "Ports Basics". This area fills you in on basic definitions useful in dealing with common external computer ports.

Next, you should go to "Types of Ports". There you can choose any or all of the types of ports available to learn.

After you have completed all the port modules that you want to learn, you can go to the "Test Your Knowledge" area. This area presents common consumer scenarios and asks you to evaluate a computer and/or peripherals to solve a problem.
